How we publish

Editorial policy

Our goal is to make every page understandable, auditable, and useful without overstating evidence or experience.

Facts and sources

Claims about terminology, history, food safety, affiliate rules, and platform behavior should link to primary or authoritative sources. The source library records recurring references.

Recipes and kitchen guidance

Recipes state quantities, yield, timing, and steps. When a page has not completed a documented test cycle, we do not label it “tested” or imply a test-kitchen process. Food-safety guidance points to the USDA or another appropriate public-health authority.

Cultural description

Native Hawaiian cuisine, Hawaiʻi local-style food, and the foods of Japanese, Filipino, Korean, Chinese, Chamorro, Samoan, Portuguese, Puerto Rican, and other communities are not interchangeable. We name the relevant context and note uncertainty instead of repeating a neat but unsupported origin story.

Product coverage

Buying guides state selection criteria and affiliate relationships. We avoid made-up ratings, unverified material claims, scraped customer reviews, and stale price claims. Readers should confirm changing merchant details before buying.

AI and automation

Automation may assist with formatting, consistency checks, and research organization. It is not treated as a source. Published factual claims should remain traceable to the page’s cited evidence.

Corrections

Material corrections update the visible modified date. Corrections are checked against the page’s supporting sources.
