Vegan Tofu Musubi
Vegan Tofu Musubi is a plant-based twist on the classic Hawaiian snack, made with fried tofu or vegan SPAM, rice, and nori.
Ingredients:
- 1 tofu block or can of Vegan SPAM (like Unmeat)
- 2 cups cooked sushi rice
- 4 sheets of nori (seaweed)
- 1 avocado
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions:
- Slice the tofu or vegan SPAM into 8 equal pieces. Fry in a pan with a bit of oil until both sides are crispy.
- Place the musubi press on a clean surface, lay a strip of nori across it, and add a layer of rice.
- Top the rice with a slice of fried tofu or vegan SPAM.
- Add sliced avocado on top of the tofu, then fold the nori over the top to seal with soy sauce or water.
- Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added flavor and texture.
- Serve with soy sauce for dipping.
